Carol Cousins

An Executive Nurse recognised as a significant Thought Leader within Health and Social Care circles in Northern Ireland and the UK with a focus on innovative, experience focused care options in a range of nursing and social care services.
Carol has extensive knowledge of the changing national and local health and social care markets and legislation, and considerable contacts with key opinion formers and influencers at department of health, SPPG and with professional regulation bodies. Currently a member of Social Care Collaborative Forum workstreams, and the Nursing and Midwifery Task Group, Carol is also the independent healthcare member of the Central Nursing and Midwifery Advisory Board for NI Carol holds several other project board roles and has recently been appointed to the Quality Excellence Framework Project Board.
Carol co - chaired several projects during Covid 19 and co-authored published research. As the Director of Strategy at the Healthcare Ireland Group Carol’s focus is centred on directing the design and delivery of great care experiences which fit with NI’s community need and support the overall Health and Social care provision.
Carol is a long-standing Director of the Independent Health Care Providers in NI.

Amanda Mitchell

Amanda is a Registered General Nurse, working in older people’s medicine since 1993 and Residential / Nursing Home Management since 1995. Amanda is well respected by key stakeholders including RQIA and Health and Social Care Trusts for her commitment to strategies which ensure care homes remain compliant with the regulations.
Amanda works closely with the various Trusts, external organisations DHSSPS, Boards, and Regulators. As the Registered Individual for Health Care Ireland group Care Homes, she is accountable for overseeing the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate care.
Health Care Ireland group homes are members of Independent Health and Care Providers (IHCP) where Amanda is an active contributory to care improvement projects. Well- practiced in project managing and commissioning new services, Amanda commissioned Bradley Manor in 2015 and was instrumental in the strategic redevelopment of the Care Circle homes in 2017, the transition of the Four Seasons Homes into the portfolio in 2020 and the Priory / Amore Care homes in 2022. Amanda has a vision for the continued development of the independent sector older people’s care provision outside of hospital settings.

Louise Campbell

A Registered Learning Disability Nurse for the last 22 years, Louise has worked in Learning Disability and Mental Health in the private and voluntary sector throughout her career.
After several years working in Northern Ireland, Louise moved to London where she worked for a Housing and Care provider managing Learning Disability, Mental Health and Substance use supported living services. Louise then moved to work with a leading support provider specialising in learning disability, autism, acquired brain injury, substance use, homelessness, and sexual health.
Louise regionally managed services across these categories and this gained her a wealth of experience in understanding the real needs of the most vulnerable in our society. Moving back to Northern Ireland Louise has worked for the last 10 years in nursing and residential services, as well as resettlement and transitioning of residents from hospital to community placement, with a charity organisation and for the last 4 years Healthcare Ireland.
Louise completed the Registered Managers Award with CQC, is a Positive Behaviour Coach through the British Institute of Learning Disability and has completed various courses relating to learning disability and quality of life.
Since joining Healthcare Ireland in 2019, Louise has successfully opened several complex needs services alongside the team. The vision is to continue to provide more homes for individuals who are most vulnerable in society in high standard individualised care homes that people feel a sense of safety and well-being.
